Ten Random Tracks A Day For 2026: 3rd September to 9th September

Week 36 of 52 weeks, we are heading towards Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, the nights draw in and I am feeling well.  I love this time of year, still light around 8-ish for a bit, cooler weather, slightly less drunken singing outside the house from idiots. What is not to love? It also makes me feel safer for some reason, no idea why, it just makes my mind settle a bit more.  The human body is a strange thing, what can you do.

Well, I can tell you what you can do... You can tell me how in the blue hell-scape of space did we get here? At the start of the year on Threads (or possibly on Bluesky), I started to see people posting random 10 songs for the day.  Now, with lists being my sort of thing and finally having the itch to blog again, I thought "lets do this". My aim is to try to post at least one list of songs per day, but as has happened, sometimes I've had to do a few post together.  If you want to follow the lists as they are posted, that is happening on my Bluesky & Threads accounts, and once a week I am compiling into this blog/playlist.  

For full disclosure, I did miss a couple of these days, so I went to my iTunes/YouTube and looked at what I had played on the days missed. Also, when it comes to the playlists I have found that sometimes that track I played is not available.  In those cases, I've added a substitute track, which I will note when posting.  Also, I'm using Spotify.  It is the only streaming service I am used to, I am also looking into changing as Spotify sucks and their owner is a bad egg.  Much like the first post, this post and others might be edited for a new playlist provider.

Week 35 of 52 weeks, and another sad week for my childhood.  Dolly Parton, Tim Curry and Peter Cullen have all gone behind the curtain invisible.  The King of Norway has also passed as I write this, and whilst I am not a royalist (or Norwegian), it is still a moment for that great nation.  Whilst death is part of the bargain of living, something we all have to face, it doesn't stop the sadness when people who you admire leave this mortal realm.  So, whilst that is happening, I am still playing RPG's and making these lists.  Not a heroic use of my time, but then again, I know what my place is (and I'm happy with that).

Week 34 of 52 weeks, it has finally rained (not enough) and thinks are getting to what I would call a proper temperature in the UK.  It is sometimes needed, the grass around the area was going a shade that could kindly be called "scrubland rough".  But it has not all be amazing, I have been more than a little ill, and needed a break from regular posting.  I still want to do this, but I don't want to burn myself out.  That is why my old blog got deleted, it is the reason why I left my radio show behind, I just kept going without a proper break.  And as I do this without payment, it is not healthy to make this a chore, it should be fun!  So, I took some time for me, kept making a list of the 10 random tracks, and posting them/setting the playlist ready for posting.

Ten Random Tracks A Day For 2026: 13th August to 19th August

Week 33 of 52 weeks, summer is heading towards its end, but it seems to be getting warmer too.  Three heatwaves in the UK this year, not had anything like that for many moons.  You know, I try not to worry about stuff like that, not because I don't believe in global warming, in fact I have always believed in it.  But god damn, I do wish we had politicians who actually gave a fuck about the planet, not their own personal wealth and draining the world to a crisp.

So, in the next hard left into the blog proper - are you hear for some music, and if so, how in the blue hell-scape of space did we get here? At the start of the year on Threads (or possibly on Bluesky), I started to see people posting random 10 songs for the day.  Now, with lists being my sort of thing and finally having the itch to blog again, I thought "lets do this". My aim is to try to post at least one list of songs per day, but as has happened, sometimes I've had to do a few post together.  If you want to follow the lists as they are posted, that is happening on my Bluesky & Threads accounts, and once a week I am compiling into this blog/playlist.  

For full disclosure, I did miss a couple of these days, so I went to my iTunes/YouTube and looked at what I had played on the days missed. Also, when it comes to the playlists I have found that sometimes that track I played is not available.  In those cases, I've added a substitute track, which I will note when posting.  Also, I'm using Spotify.  It is the only streaming service I am used to, I am also looking into changing as Spotify sucks and their owner is a bad egg.  Much like the first post, this post and others might be edited for a new playlist provider.

Ten Random Tracks A Day For 2026: 6th August to 12th August

Week 32 of 52 weeks, there are twenty weeks left after this one, where the hell has the year gone!  I tell you, it has been a busy week in my place.  Even through bad RPG playing (Warhammer: Soulbound), where I rolled so many 1's that it was beyond funny, I have not stopped and it is being to show.  I've been a little tired, but nothing too harsh.  I am really happy at the moment, even in the sad times, not really been like this for so long.  And so far, I've been playing some banging albums as well!

So, hopefully will be having a few more 2026 songs on these lists, and how in the blue hell-scape of space did we get here? At the start of the year on Threads (or possibly on Bluesky), I started to see people posting random 10 songs for the day.  Now, with lists being my sort of thing and finally having the itch to blog again, I thought "lets do this". Week 31 of 52 weeks, and I feel as if the Grim Reaper is being a bit of a prick recently.  Chuck Russell, Jennifer Finch, John Douglas, Bill Oddie, Glen Hansard, Ronnie Le Drew (Zippy from Rainbow), Lou Koller, just a few of the people from my childhood and growing up who've passed away in the last few weeks.  Ladies and Gentlemen, I don't want to be morbid, but it is a harsh time we are living in.  Just so, sad and tragic, making me a little bit sad at the moment.  But life does go on, and will keep on going... So....

Ten Random Tracks A Day For 2026: 23rd July to 29th July

Week 30 of 52 weeks, we are closer to the end than the beginning and it is starting to get real. Well, not that it hasn't been real, it's not as if posting lists is a labour (unless you count it as a labour of love(?)). But yes, it has been seven (well, six, as last week's blog was late, but there was seven days of posts on Bluesky & Threads) days of lists.  It has also been a period of warm weather, which is annoying me.  I mean, yes I love sunshine and vitamin D, but the plants and garden need rain, we've had the local yearly fair which usually bring rain and it's been bone-dry!  What the hell, I thought we had a deal rain gods (who's existence I doubt).... yet I digress and need to get back on track. 

And just like that, we are reaching the point, where I ask the age old question.  And what question is this? Well, as always, how in the blue hell-scape of space did we get here? At the start of the year on Threads (or possibly on Bluesky), I started to see people posting random 10 songs for the day.  Now, with lists being my sort of thing and finally having the itch to blog again, I thought "lets do this". My aim is to try to post at least one list of songs per day, but as has happened, sometimes I've had to do a few post together.  If you want to follow the lists as they are posted, that is happening on my Bluesky & Threads accounts, and once a week I am compiling into this blog/playlist.  

For full disclosure, I did miss a couple of these days, so I went to my iTunes/YouTube and looked at what I had played on the days missed. Also, when it comes to the playlists I have found that sometimes that track I played is not available.  In those cases, I've added a substitute track, which I will note when posting.  Also, I'm using Spotify.  It is the only streaming service I am used to, I am also looking into changing as Spotify sucks and their owner is a bad egg.  Much like the first post, this post and others might be edited for a new playlist provider.

Week 29 people!  We are on the downward end of the posts! And somehow, I am still doing this. To be honest, I still am surprised that I am still posting, I have almost thrown in the towel every now and then.  But not because I wanted to stop, just life getting in the way.  However, my mind still want to do this, which I am taking as a positive.  I've also been looking at my 2026 AOTY list, I'm currently 267 deep at the moment, so might do a separate post about that as well.  Also, apologise for this being a day late, massive headache the day before, so delayed whilst that went away.

But enough about the future, let us talk about the past and find out what do we have going on! Well, as always, these posts are about the first ten random tracks of the day, and how in the blue hell-scape of space did we get here? We are here at week 28 of this blog being almost regular, how the fuck did that happen! Honestly, there has been a few weeks where I've been late, but mostly it has been one a week and that is good for me. Considering how burnt out I was with my last blog, I am taking that as a victory!  Also, considering that the sun seems to have been left on full heat, I'm taking everything easy as it comes at the moment.  I am still looking at some other posts to add here, but until I am ready, just these lists for now.

Ten Random Tracks A Day For 2026: 2nd July to 8th July

Week 27 has passed, and it is a week of celebration.  It will have been my wedding anniversary, as well as Mrs C's birthday.  At the time I do this part, I am getting things together for it, and looking forward to the days. Been together a long time, she is amazing and I'm lucky to have her in my life.  Also, the poor lady has to put up with me listening to a lot of Frank Zappa!  

So, after celebrations, what do we have going o!n Well, as always, it is ten random tracks, and how in the blue hell-scape of space did we get here? At the start of the year on Threads (or possibly on Bluesky), I started to see people posting random 10 songs for the day.  Now, with lists being my sort of thing and finally having the itch to blog again, I thought "lets do this". My aim is to try to post at least one list of songs per day, but as has happened, sometimes I've had to do a few post together.  If you want to follow the lists as they are posted, that is happening on my Bluesky & Threads accounts, and once a week I am compiling into this blog/playlist.  

For full disclosure, I did miss a couple of these days, so I went to my iTunes/YouTube and looked at what I had played on the days missed. Also, when it comes to the playlists I have found that sometimes that track I played is not available.  In those cases, I've added a substitute track, which I will note when posting.  Also, I'm using Spotify.  It is the only streaming service I am used to, I am also looking into changing as Spotify sucks and their owner is a bad egg.  Much like the first post, this post and others might be edited for a new playlist provider.

Week 26 people, as Bon Jovi said, we are half way there! And by Christ, is it not stupidly hot at the time of writing this opening.  I mean so hot that clothes are being drained of colour as they are dry on the line.  Also, there is a event in the US happening called The World Cup (football, or soccer if you are from east of the UK), which I am trying to avoid.  It is not holding my interest at all, but that is not really a surprise.  I've nothing against the game itself, mostly the armchair fans who do my nut in, shouting that they could do better themselves, which I am sure they could not.  If you enjoy it, have a great time, I'll be over here playing my records.
