Ten Random Tracks A Day For 2026: 21st May to 27th May

Week twenty one of fifty-two lists! And in a turnaround from the rest of the year, it is starting to warm up here in deepest, darkest Tyneside!  Personally, I hate it, I am very much of the "let it rain and be cooler" side of humanity, it is what comes from having family roots which go back to the Outer Hebrides (on my Mam's side of the family).  It just means I will be extra meh with things and want to sleep more, what I would give for a good thunderstorm right now!  That being said, I am currently being distracted with new video games (Astro Bot & the new Lego Batman, both are great), and also distracted by sleep.... did I mention that!!!!

But enough about my inability to stay awake in the heat,  I want to talk about random tracks and make a list about them! So, as always, how in the blue hell-scape of space did we get here? At the start of the year on Threads (or possibly on Bluesky), I started to see people posting random 10 songs for the day.  Now, with lists being my sort of thing and finally having the itch to blog again, I thought "lets do this". My aim is to try to post at least one list of songs per day, but as has happened, sometimes I've had to do a few post together.  If you want to follow the lists as they are posted, that is happening on my Bluesky & Threads accounts, and once a week I am compiling into this blog/playlist.  

For full disclosure, I did miss a couple of these days, so I went to my iTunes/YouTube and looked at what I had played on the days missed. Also, when it comes to the playlists I have found that sometimes that track I played is not available.  In those cases, I've added a substitute track, which I will note when posting.  Also, I'm using Spotify.  It is the only streaming service I am used to, I am also looking into changing as Spotify sucks and their owner is a bad egg.  Much like the first post, this post and others might be edited for a new playlist provider.

Somehow, as I start to type this, even though it is the middle of May, it is fucking freezing in the North-East of England.  Not sure how that is far, but there you go.  It is also the usual chaos up here, but feeling rather calm and rested.  Must be because I'm still on holiday, but it is all good for once.  What is that sword doing over my head there.... Also, sorry for this being late, I was a very tired boy last night!

But enough about the pending sense of doom,  I want to talk about random tracks and make a list about them! So, as always, how in the blue hell-scape of space did we get here? I mean, it should be obvious from the way my musical taste has been shown over the last few months that I am of the older ilk, but you never know.  Anyway, the birthday was quiet, work didn't do anything for it, so that is that.  However, my wife has spoilt me, and I am currently on holiday, so I will take that as a victory there.

These last few weeks have been big in my D&D/Daggerheart world (let me digress from music for a moment).  I've spent the last 9+ months running a Daggerheart campaign, loosely based on the D&D campaign Ghost of Saltmarsh.  I say loosely, as it has taken a detour and went into a strange horror campaign with death cults, stolen gods, phantom whalers who can control the storm and other such things.  It has been a blast as one of the players is the usual DM who has been helping me when I lose track (often) and offering guidance when I go wrong and send them on the umpteenth fetch quest.  It's been great and and am near the end of the story.  Not sure where it will go, but I am working of a series of posts here were I will be going over the story.  Should be fun!

And I will park that for a few moments or ten and say... I want to talk about random tracks and make a list about them! So, as always, how in the blue hell-scape of space did we get here? At the start of the year on Threads (or possibly on Bluesky), I started to see people posting random 10 songs for the day.  Now, with lists being my sort of thing and finally having the itch to blog again, I thought "lets do this". My aim is to try to post at least one list of songs per day, but as has happened, sometimes I've had to do a few post together.  If you want to follow the lists as they are posted, that is happening on my Bluesky & Threads accounts, and once a week I am compiling into this blog/playlist.  

For full disclosure, I did miss a couple of these days, so I went to my iTunes/YouTube and looked at what I had played on the days missed. Also, when it comes to the playlists I have found that sometimes that track I played is not available.  In those cases, I've added a substitute track, which I will note when posting.  Also, I'm using Spotify.  It is the only streaming service I am used to, I am also looking into changing as Spotify sucks and their owner is a bad egg.  Much like the first post, this post and others might be edited for a new playlist provider.
