Ten Random Tracks A Day For 2026: 22nd October to 28th October

Week 43 of 52, and the cooler weather is definitely here. My Hebridean blood is enjoying it, I work better in the cold, because I'm not sweating out of my skin.  It also means that in-between going back over the MCU, that my other Autumn/Winter movies come back out.  Been watching Where Eagles Dare, The Cannonball Run, Animalypics and Star Wars: Rogue One.  These films just suit my mood at this time of year, all either very silly or emotional.  I'm also going to watch the two Blade Runner movies as well, just feeling like some classic cinema at the moment.

But enough about current film schedule, let me explain how in the blue hell-scape of space did we get here and these posts? At the start of the year on Threads (or possibly on Bluesky), I started to see people posting random 10 songs for the day.  Now, with lists being my sort of thing and finally having the itch to blog again, I thought "lets do this". My aim is to try to post at least one list of songs per day, but as has happened, sometimes I've had to do a few post together.  If you want to follow the lists as they are posted, that is happening on my Bluesky & Threads accounts, and once a week I am compiling into this blog/playlist.  

For full disclosure, I did miss a couple of these days, so I went to my iTunes/YouTube and looked at what I had played on the days missed. Also, when it comes to the playlists I have found that sometimes that track I played is not available.  In those cases, I've added a substitute track, which I will note when posting.  Also, I'm using Spotify.  It is the only streaming service I am used to, I am also looking into changing as Spotify sucks and their owner is a bad egg.  Much like the first post, this post and others might be edited for a new playlist provider.

Week 42 of 52, which started with my last blog being posted later than I originally intended.  This was not down to illness, but down to being too busy for a change.  There was work, with a conference to attend, and there was also a gig at The Cluny in Newcastle.  I went to see Ben Quad, with support from Riley! and Voted Most Likely.  The gig was fun, I stayed towards the back, as my old ass body is no longer fit for the pit.  However, it was really good to be at a gig, I rarely get to go (mostly due to cost), so seeing three bands all have good to great sets is a win in my books.  I'm looking to see if I can get to another gig before the end of the year, if something comes along that tickles my interest.

Week 41 of 52, and a totally irrelevant rant!  So, I am currently in the process of topping up my Marvel DVD collection, so been looking at the website of my local Cex store.  They have it posted that one of the movies I am after is there. Went round after work today, no copy is there, and the staff say it hasn't been in for month.  However, it is still shown online!  I know it is a first world issue, not a big thing in the grand scheme of the world.  I just want companies to have their websites in order, it is not hard.

Week 40 of 52, somehow, my hopes of Autumn has been put on pause by another burst of hot weather.  Whilst this is good for vitamin D, clothes washing, charva's with their tops on, I am at the point of wanting a bit of rain.  The nights are drawing in at least, which is good for this time of year.  Means I can start watching my spooky movies again! I'm also got a separate post on the go, which is taking a bit of time to finish.  More on that in future posts! 

But let us leave the future to the side for now, and let me explain how in the blue hell-scape of space did we get here and these posts? At the start of the year on Threads (or possibly on Bluesky), I started to see people posting random 10 songs for the day.  Now, with lists being my sort of thing and finally having the itch to blog again, I thought "lets do this". My aim is to try to post at least one list of songs per day, but as has happened, sometimes I've had to do a few post together.  If you want to follow the lists as they are posted, that is happening on my Bluesky & Threads accounts, and once a week I am compiling into this blog/playlist.  

For full disclosure, I did miss a couple of these days, so I went to my iTunes/YouTube and looked at what I had played on the days missed. Also, when it comes to the playlists I have found that sometimes that track I played is not available.  In those cases, I've added a substitute track, which I will note when posting.  Also, I'm using Spotify.  It is the only streaming service I am used to, I am also looking into changing as Spotify sucks and their owner is a bad egg.  Much like the first post, this post and others might be edited for a new playlist provider.
